BIOL 124 examines the relationship between living things, including humans, and their environment. The course introduces major concepts of ecology and relates these concepts to environmental issues. Topics include the structure and function of ecosystems, evolutionary processes, population biology, extinction, sustainability and global climatechange. Emphasis is placed on Hawaiian environment and ecology and the diversity of native Hawaiian species. |
